Nutritional Immunology

Studies have found that eating healthy food can strengthen the body’s immune system and a strong immune system can protect the body from most diseases. Nutritional immunology emphasizes on eating natural whole foods to stay healthy and does not encourage consuming chemically-processed foods. This subject goes beyond basic nutrition for survival such as vitamins and protein, instead, it researches into nutrients such as antioxidants, phytochemicals, polysaccharides etc. to boost immunity.

Nutritional immunology stresses on “prevention is better than cure”, because it may be too late to seek treatment once you develop symptoms. The body’s resistance to cancer, bacterial and viral infection as well as various pollutants decreases when the immune system is not well nourished. Diseases can be better prevented if you provide proper nutrition to your immune system daily.
